Demolition work began in the centre of Liskeard last week as plans for a Wetherspoon pub took a step forward.

Underground fuel tanks have to be removed from the site and the land declared free of contamination before construction of the new pub can begin.

The pub, when it is finished, will be a two-and-a-half storey building with a bar and seating on the ground floor, and a beer garden.
