A SALTASH Policeman is appealing for people to come forward - and make a bid for a signed Plymouth Argyle football shirt. The white 'away' shirt was signed by members of the Argyle first team squad and donated to the police in support of a recent sponsored bike ride completed by staff at the station to generate funds for cystic fibrosis. Twelve members from Saltash police cycled the 96 miles from Lands End to Saltash in one day during May, but never auctioned off the shirt. The group raised £4,200 from the bike ride, and have donated £12,300 to the charity in the past two years. It is hoped that the sale of the Argyle shirt, and a signed Plymouth Raiders basketball also donated to the station, will raise even more money. Cystic fibrosis is the Saltash police's designated charity as one of the officers at the station has grandchildren that suffer with the disease. Anyone wishing to bid for the items should contact PC Simon Fletcher, Neighbourhood Beat Manager at Saltash Station. All entries must be received by Wednesday, December 1.
