MORE than 100 swimmers from all over the local area took part in the annual Janet James Memorial Swimathon at Lux Park Leisure Centre, Liskeard, in aid of the British Heart Foundation (BHF).
The sponsored swimmers have raised £4,238.15 so far, an increase of nearly £1,000 on last year’s event, and from this £648.68 will be passed onto other charities nominated by the participants.
There was fierce but friendly competition among the swimmers to lift the trophy for the most lengths swum, which will be awarded at the presentation event on Saturday, January 23.
