Ten National Trust locations across the Westcountry will take part in a chain of beacons including Liskeard, Looe, Torpoint and Saltash in celebration of The Queen’s 90th Birthday. Beacons will be lit throughout the land from 7.30pm to 8.30pm on Thursday, April 21.

The Queen will light the principal beacon at Windsor Castle and then more than 1,000 beacons will be lit throughout the United Kingdom.

South West National Trust locations include Carn Brea and St Michael’s Mount in Cornwall.

There’s a four-page pullout devoted to the Queen’s 90th birthday in this week’s Cornish Times, on sale from tomorrow (April 15), including details of local beacons.
