A SKETCH show featuring some of the country’s finest upcoming comedy writers and performers has had its premiere on Liskeard Radio.

Barmy Nonsense will be back on air tomorrow night (Sunday) at 9.30pm featuring actors Hamish Lloyd Barnes, Charlie Billingham, Laura England, Tom Cove, Miranda Colmans and Michael Terry.

With episode one including an Ofsted visit to Hogwarts, Alexa set to ‘break up’ mode and a park warden doing everything in his power to prevent the ducks being fed bread, more of the same sorts of ‘Barmy Nonsense’ is promised in tomorrow’s show.

The five-part series has been devised by local comedian and author Greg Winders of OMF Theatre. Together with producer Martin Calvert and Paul Program and Kieron Standfield (music), Greg says he’s teamed up with writers from all over the UK to create quality comedy and is proud to be putting Liskeard on the map.

Greg, who has recently taken his one-man lockdown show Apocalypse Kernow on tour and performed recently “on the wettest day since records began in Stroud”, used the BBC Writersroom to source scripts, and connect with talented people who he invited to be part of the Barmy Nonsense project.

Following the Sunday night shows on Liskeard Radio, Barmy Nonsense moves onto the OMF Theatre You Tube channel on Mondays at 8.45pm with a live chat option, after which episodes can continue to be watched back.
