Reg Wilkinson (70), from Yealmpton, has donated a painting of an original cartoon sea scene to the RNLI, and chose Looe Lifeboat souvenir shop as the only place for the copies to be sold. There are a number of the 100 limited edition prints of the picture on sale in Looe Lifeboat souvenir shop. All proceeds go to Looe Lifeboats. Before becoming an artist, Reg served as a military policeman, in both the UK and overseas, and was once the guard for Viscount Montgomery of Alamein. After leaving the military police he joined the Metropolitan police and was the bodyguard for the Rt Hon Harold Wilson. Reg chose Looe because he spent much of his youth in the town. 'I like Looe and have many happy memories of my childhood here,' said Reg. All the prints are numbered and signed by the artist.
