A Christmas art and craft exhibition that features the best of Cornish and Devon makers and artists has proved so successful organisers are extending it for 2016.
An extra day has been added to the 11th annual Christmas Art and Craft Exhibition and Sale at Upton Cross, between Liskeard and Launceston.
The event was first created as an addition to the successful summer exhibition organised at the same venue, the Parish Hall, by artist Ruth Carthew each year since the 1990s.
‘Now,’ said Ruth, ‘it has proved popular in its own right so we’re adding an extra day. I think people really value somewhere where they can do their Christmas shopping that’s not corporate and bland, that supports their local community and that offers something very different.’
The event features a huge range of art works and craft items, from paintings to books, leatherware to jewellery, woodturners to scarves, all produced locally. There are new artists and crafters exhibiting this year.
It’s on from Friday, December 2 to Sunday, December 4 at the Parish Hall, Upton Cross, from 10am to 8pm.
