Argyle's Jon Ashton was among St Cleer's special guests

St Cleer Boys held their annual presentation on Saturday, May 15 at the Lord Eliot Hotel. Special guests Jon Ashton of Plymouth Argyle and Dave Keast, the secretary of the DJM, presented the trophies. Each member was given a club trophy, while individual awards were also given out.

The winners are as follows: Under 13's- Captain's and Player's Player went to Robin Brown, while Manager's Sportsperson this year was Tim Young.

Under 11's- Captain's and Player's Player went to Ross Coombe and Manager's Sportsperson was Jared Lynn.

Under 10's- Captain's Trophy went to Guy Stround, while Player's Player was David Fountain. The Manager's Sportsperson award went to Ryan Brookes.

Under 8's and 9's- Manager's Sportsperson went to Douglas Andrews.

All of the managers then gave a report on their past season's events and were then presented with a trophy by Mr John Sheer, the Chairman of St Cleer Parish Council.

Chairman of the club Andrew Tapper gave a report on the success of the club over the last three years, and he also thanks everyone for all their hard work, which all helps the club to run successfully.

The Sportsmatch training sessions are taking place for all of last season's Under 10's and 11's. The next session is held on Friday 4th June at 6.00 pm-7.00 pm for the Under 10's and 7.00 pm- 8.00 pm for the Under 11's. Following sessions will be held on 18th June and 2nd July. Please attend if possible.

The next fundraising event is a car treasure hunt which will be on Wednesday 16th June, starting and finishing at St Cleer sportsfield. The starting time is between 6.00 pm and 7.00 pm, at a cost of £3.00 per car. A Bar-B-Q is available on return. Please support your local kids football club.

The Club AGM will this year be held on Tuesday 6th July, at St Cleer sportsfield at 7.30 pm. Please come along and support the club.

Signing on nights/first training sessions for the 1999/2000 will be as follows. Please note- the committee have split the nights due to the size of the club.

Under 14's- Wednesday 21st July, 6.00 pm- 7.00 pm; Under 11's- Wednesday 21st July, 7.00 pm- 8.00 pm. Under 8's, 9's and 10's- Thursday 22nd July, 6.00 pm- 7.00 pm; Under 12's- Thursday 22nd July, 7.00 pm- 8.00 pm.
