Cornwall Council is asking people in Truro and St Austell for their views on draft action plans to improve air quality in their area.

The consultations run until 28 November and include public exhibitions with staff from the Council’s public protection team on hand to answer questions about the options at St Austell – on October 20 from 10am-3pm at St Austell One Stop Shop.

Cornwall Council declared St Austell an Air Quality Management Area in 2014, followed by Truro in 2015, after long term monitoring found areas with excessive levels of traffic related nitrogen dioxide (NO2).

In St Austell areas of concern include the A390 at Holmbush and the junction of Edgcumbe Road and Truro Road.
