A special card for a special lady
One of the first centenarians to receive the new greeting card from the Queen was Mrs Christine Ross, who celebrated her 100th birthday on Saturday, June 12.
The new card, with a colourful picture of Her Majesty, dropped through the letterbox right on time to wish Mrs Ross many happy returns.
Mrs Ross, who lives in Plaidy Park Road, Looe, was born at Cartuther Barton, Liskeard, the youngest of five sisters and six brothers. She is the only remaining member of the Hosken family.
She had a lot of visitors on her birthday, including the Mayor and Mayoress of Looe and BBC television weatherman Craig Rich.
