A MAN with a mission to host a quiz night in a different venue every evening in October will be coming to venues in South East Cornwall.

Shaun McDermott has almost 3,000 questions up his sleeve to help him raise funds for St Luke's Hospice.

'I regularly host quizzes and try to come up with different ideas to make them interesting,' said Shaun, who lives in Horrabridge in Devon.

'I once organised an event where we did 14 quizzes in 14 hours.'

Gleaning ideas from books, TV and radio shows and online, Shaun says he will take interesting questions from 'wherever he can get his hands on them.'

'That is the bit I really enjoy,' he said, 'finding those questions that will make people think, laugh and go to work next day telling their friends.'

Shaun hopes to see 1,500 people enter his quizzes in Devon and Cornwall this month and provide an entertaining night out – as well as raising lots of cash for his chosen charity.

'It is an old-fashioned format quiz which I try to host with as much humour as I can,' he said.

Shaun will be taking his quiz quest to Calstock Social Club tomorrow (Saturday) and then to the following venues throughout the month:

Sunday, October 12 – Sterts Theatre, Upton Cross.

Friday, October 17 – Saltash Rugby Club.

Tuesday, October 21 – The Globe Inn, Looe

Monday, October 27 – The White Horse, Liskeard

Tuesday, October 28 – The Rifle Volunteer, St Ann's Chapel
