An injured woman trapped in the wreckage of her crashed car had to be freed by rescuers yesterday.

Firefighters from Callington joined colleagues from Launceston and specialist rescuers from Bodmin at the scene on the B3257 at Trevadlock Cross, Lewannick, at around 10am.

They found one vehicle on its side with a female occupant trapped inside.

The crews used crash rescue equipment to release the woman who was cared for by paramedics. Police were also at the scene.

The extent of the injuries is not known.
