Police have revealed that the woman who died following a serious collision on the A38 at Menheniot yesterday was from Looe.

Police were called at around 1.30pm yesterday [Thursday 9 May] following a collision between a Volvo V50 and a Ford Fiesta on the A38 at Menheniot, Liskeard.

Emergency services attended including the air ambulance and the road was closed for six hours. The male driver of the Volvo sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene.

The driver of the Fiesta, a 66-year-old man from Looe sustained injuries described as serious but not life threatening and was taken to Derriford by land ambulance.

His passenger, a 69-year-old woman also from the Looe area, sustained fatal injuries. Her next of kin have been informed.

Police are appealing from witnesses and would also like to hear from anyone who has any dashcam footage that can assist with the investigation.
