A vehicle towing a horsebox caught fire on the main A38 this morning (January 14).

The owners managed to free the horse before firefighters from Saltash arrived on the scene at Notter Bridge after 9am.

The crew used two sets of breathing apparatus and two hosereel jets to put out the fire.

The cause was accidental.
