A 29-year old man remains in hospital with serious injuries following the incident in Liskeard town centre on Wednesday night, say police.
Police and emergency services were called to Fore Street at around 10.30pm to reports of an altercation. A man was found with a suspected stab wound to the side. He received medical treatment at the scene and was taken to hospital.
Officers say they are continuing their enquiries.
