Ten people were injured and the A38 was closed in both directions on Christmas Eve after another accident on South East Cornwall’s troubled main road.

The collision at Landrake at around 5pm involved a bus which crashed into a tree, and left what emergency services at the scene described as ‘multiple walking wounded’.

One person was trapped in the vehicle and had to be rescued.

Fire and rescue service crews from Saltash, Liskeard and Bodmin were all at the scene.

One of the injured had to be taken to hospital in Plymouth, while nine others sustained what were described as ‘minor injuries’.

The road re-opened at about 6.30pm.
