The RSPCA is appealing for information after a guinea pig with a severe maggot infestation was discovered after being dumped in a recycling bag in a Cornish park.
The guinea pig was found at Bodmin Beacon Nature Reserve on Sunday, October 30 by the shocked dog walker who immediately contacted the RSPCA
Animal Welfare Officer Felicity Cross is appealing for information in the hope of discovering who discarded the animal in the popular park.
The welfare officer, who has worked for the RSPCA for more than 20 years, described the condition of the guinea pig as one of the worst she has ever seen.
She added: ’I really, really hope somebody will contact our inspector appeal line on 0300 123 8018.’
