A motorist was injured in a serious accident that closed the A374 near Sheviock for several hours morning (June 26).

Specialist rescue kit had to be used to free the injured person from their crashed car.

Firefighters from Toproint, Saltash and Bodmin found two vehicles had been involved in the collision which happenednot long after 9am.

The crews used specialist cutting equipment to remove the roof from the car to extricate the casualty.

The ambulance service were on scene and took over the care of the patient. The road was re-opened at lunchtime.
