Police have released an image of a man they want to identify and locate in connection with an alleged meat cleaver attack in Liskeard.

Police were called to the Hot Wok in Pondbridge Hill at around 3.15pm on Wednesday, November 23, following reports of an altercation between two men

It is alleged that one man struck the other over the head with a meat cleaver during the incident. Paramedics treated a 49-year-old man who had sustained wounds to the neck and scalp and a suspected fractured skull; he has since been released from Derriford Hospital.

The suspect fled the scene.

Officers believe the suspect is called Hui or Li and has connections to the Plymouth area. He is believed to have sustained a cut above his eye during the altercation.

The man is described as of Chinese appearance (Fujian region), approximately 5ft6ins tall, of slim build with dark-coloured short hair. He is believed to have been wearing a grey zipped top, black trousers and black shoes.
