MEMBERS of the Tamar Coastguard Rescue Team have qualified in Mud Rescue after a very muddy day of exercises on the river at St John, near Torpoint.
The team now has seven qualified mud technicians and one operator.
“It was a really great day, learning our new role, and knowing what dangers being stuck in the mud can bring,” said a spokesperson.
“We spent the day learning techniques in how to deal with different situations in extracting a casualty. A very dirty kind of day as you can see - but apparently it’s good for the complexion.”
