Quick action by Lostwithiel firefighters and a working smoke alarm averted a worse problem after fire broke out in a kitchen in the early hours of this morning (March 31), said Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service.
Crews from Lostwithiel and Bodmin Community Fire Stations were quickly on scene at a reported kitchen fire in the Lostwithiel area at just before 4am.
Fire control said ’quick intervention from the first appliance from Lostwithiel knocked down a small fire in the kitchen’ which was believed to have started in the fuse board.
Western Power were requested to attend to isolate power to the property.
The occupants were woken in the middle of the night by their smoke alarm.
