Police are appealing for witnesses after ten storage units were broken into in Liskeard over the weekend.

Offenders targeted Liskeard Self Storage on Moorswater Industrial Estate sometime between 7pm on Saturday, April 2 and 7am on Monday.

Ten storage units were broken into and a large quantity of power tools were taken from two of them.

A distinctive dark green trailer with the word ‘Artisan’ sprayed in gold on the sides and back was also taken.

Offenders got into the yard by driving a vehicle through a fence before stealing the trailer to transport the stolen tools.

The trailer is believed to have been driven through Liskeard town centre or surrounding area before being abandoned on Culverland Road industrial estate near to the old magistrates’ court.

Police have recovered the trailer and returned it to the owner, but in the region of 25 power tools worth around £7,000 remain missing.

Officers investigating the burglary are appealing for information from anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity at the self storage yard at the time of the offence.

They are particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have seen the trailer being driven around the area or anyone who has been offered the power tools for sale.
