A POLICE helicopter was involved in the search for a hit and run driver in Liskeard.

Officers were called at 9.10pm on Friday (October 1) to Church Street South, Liskeard following reports of a collision involving two vehicles.

Police units including police dogs and helicopter attended the scene where it was reported that someone was seen leaving the vehicles and fleeing the scene on foot.

“An area search was carried out but the man was not located – he has since made contact with police,” said a spokesperson for the Devon and Cornwall force.

“One person was reported to have sustained an injury, not thought to be serious, and was taken to hospital.

“The vehicles were recovered and the scene cleared shortly before 1.30am.”
