Devon and Cornwall Police officers who are investigating reports of a serious sexual assault in Saltash are now appealing for information from the public.
The alleged incident is reported to have taken place near the junction of Broad Walk and Beatrice Avenue at around 11pm on Saturday, July 17.
The victim, a teenage girl, was reported to have been approached by an unknown male who sexually assaulted her. She is now being supported by specialist officers.
The victim was reportedly approached from behind by her attacker and then assaulted in a field adjoining Broad Walk.
Following the incident, the victim was able to make her way safely away from the scene. The matter was later reported to police.
The man is described as having been a white male, thought to be aged between 40-55 and of large or overweight build. He is believed to have had facial stubble/hair.
Officers investigating this incident have carried out a number of enquiries and are now appealing to the public for information.
