Firefighters from Callington and Liskeard were mobilised following reports of smoke from a window in a property in New Road, Callington, on Saturday (November 12).

On arrival crews found a two-storey building approximately 10 metres by 15 metres, with a fire on the ground floor involving a portable electric heater.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet to put out the fire.

The cause was accidental and the property was allowed to ventilate naturally.
