A man who lost his life following a collision on the A38 at Glynn Valley on Bank Holiday Monday, May 28, has been named as 72-year-old Michael Ryan from Nottingham.

Emergency services were called to the scene at around 11.15am after a Land Rover and a Volvo flatbed collided at Newbridge Cross near Bodmin.

The driver of the Land Rover, Mr Ryan, died as a result of the collision and was pronounced deceased at the scene. His next of kin were informed and formal identification took place.

A female passenger of the Land Rover was airlifted to Derriford Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A full investigation of the scene was completed and enquiries are continuing to determine the cause of this collision.
