A seven-year-old girl has died in a tragic accident in Looe as winter conditions lash Cornwall.

Police said a Nissan car had collided with a house on Bodrigan Road at about 2.30pm today.

The weather was steadily worsening at the time, with an amber weather warning for snow and gales in place.

The little girl, believed to be a pedestrian, was declared dead at the scene.

Her next of kin have been informed.

Road closures were put in place around the area as emergency services dealt with the incident.
