Five people are feared to have been seriously injured after another major accident on the A38 in South East Cornwall yesterday.

The incident near Landrake closed the A38 between Trerulefoot and Carkeel for around ten hours yesterday, leading to widespread traffic chaos.

A fleet of emergency vehicles including three air ambulances ferried the injured to hospital at Derriford, and diversion routes quickly became crowded.

Firefighters from Saltash and Liskeard were among emergency agencies at the scene. Three of the injured had to be cut free from the wreckage of their vehicles.

Three vehicles are believed to have been involved in the accident, which happened at around 3.15pm.
