Firefighters from Torpoint have issued a plea to drivers to think of the 999 services when they park, after finding their route back to the station blocked in Millbrook.

Crew had found a 22-foot boat heavily smokelogged when they answered a 999 call to Southdown Marina shortly after 8pm yesterday (December 21).

Two appliances from Torpoint station went to the scene.

Two breathing apparatus, one hosereel and one positive pressure ventilation fan were used to tackle the fire, which is believed to have started accidentally.

The crew found their return route through Millbrook blocked and posted a picture of the scene on social media with the comment: ’Please think, delays could cost lives.'
