Firefighters from Torpoint, Plymouth and Liskeard, together with the ambulance service, were called to a residential garage fire in Langdon Down Way, Torpoint this afternoon when there were fears that people may be inside the property.

On arrival they found everyone was accounted for, but firefighters were faced with a well developed fire.

The attached garage was completely destroyed by fire and it had spread to a neighbouring property. Both Wales and West Utilities and Western Power Distribution were requested to assist crews on scene.

The fire service would like to thank the Torpoint Ferry for assisting the Plymouth crews get to the scene as quickly as possible.
