Firefighters have been battling the major blaze at a vehicle scrapyard through the night.
Crews from all over the county have been fighting the fire at WH Orchard and Sons near Dobwalls.
This morning Cornwall Fire and Rescue service reported ‘steady progress’ on the fire.
A spokesman said: ‘Relief crews from across the county have been used overnight and currently on scene there are four major appliances from Delabole, Polruan, Saltash and Callington.
‘Two water carriers from Wadebridge and Helston are shuttling water to the scene.
‘Specialist firefighting equipment in use includes a high volume pump, foam pod, and aerial ladder platform with platform monitor in use firefighting from a height.’
Support vehicles have remained at the scene and senior officers have been on site managing the incident.
‘Crews are continuing their sustained attack on the fire to dampen it down,’ said the spokesman.
The emergency services are likely to be on the scene well into today, and some local roads remain closed.
