Fire broke out on the side of the busy A38 yesterday afternoon.

Multiple 999 calls were made by members of the public to raise the alarm shortly before 4pm.

Liskeard firefighters discovered 30 metres of bypass embankment at Horningtops alight, and called for the water carrier.

Firefighters used two hose reel jets and beaters to put out the fire.
