The Royal Lifesaving Society has launched a Don’t Drink and Drown campaign as festivities for the Christmas season begin.

The campaign aims to raise awareness of the dangers of being near water after a night out and when under the influence of alcohol.

More than 60% of people who drowned whilst intoxicated had no intention of being in the water and most people who fell in had walked near water alone. Don’t let your friends walk home on their own. Stick together, nobody gets left behind.
