Investigations are continuing into reports of a shooting in Saltash on Saturday which led to four arrests after an operation in Liskeard involving armed police.

A 37-year-old man was found with serious injuries to his hand in Saltash shortly after 10pm on Saturday (March 17). He was taken to hospital for treatment.

As a result of this incident, armed officers closed Higher Lux Street in Liskeard from 6am on Sunday (March 18). 

One home was evacuated and four people were arrested from an address in High Lux Street at 10.10am.

This morning, police have said a 31-year-old woman and a 45-year-old man from Liskeard were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and possession of a firearm and were released under investigation pending further enquiries.

A 31-year-old man from Liverpool was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and possession of a firearm and has been released on police bail.

A 20-year-old man from Liverpool was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and possession of a firearm and was released on police bail but remains in custody due to a previous breach of bail conditions.

Police Commander for East Cornwall, Superintendent Ian Drummond-Smith said: ‘I would like to thank residents for their patience while High Lux Street was closed and one home was evacuated, both of which were necessary for public safety.’
