Officers investigating a historic case of sexual assault are trying to trace friends or relatives of a man, now dead, who may have paperwork or evidence which could help with their cold case enquiry.

The assault happened in 1983 in the Newquay area and the man, Dennis Seger or Seager, may have been employed as a consultant to obtain evidence through hypnosis of the victim, as was occasionally the practice at the time.

He assisted police mainly in the Newquay area and lived in Helston.
