Firefighters say a correctly fitted child safety seat averted worse injuries in a two-car crash in which five people were hurt.

An air ambulance, police, paramedics and firefighters from Callington and Launceston were all at the scene in Stoke Climsland on Saturday evening. All five injured people were in need of stretchers.
