A BUS collided with the canopy of a jewellers shop in Liskeard this morning (Friday), resulting in damage to both the bus and the premises.
The collision occurred outside the Time and Motion jewellers in Barn Street at around 10am and buses on the route to Plymouth were suspended for a time while the emergency services attended the incident.
When the Cornish Times contacted the owner of the jewellers she was too shocked and upset to comment at the present time other than to say that the building was being assessed for structural damage.
Soon after the incident Plymouth Citybus tweeted: "Due to a traffic collision in Liskeard, the #TFC71 inbound to Derriford Hospital for 11.30 has been cancelled. Thank you for your patience - inspectors and emergency services are on their way to assist."
A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesman said: "Police were notified at around 10am to reports of a collision involving a bus and a shop in Barn Street in Liskeard.
"No injuries have been reported. Services are at the scene assisting in vehicle recovery."
The Cornish Times will report further on the incident in its next edition.
