Paramedics had to treat a casualty for burns after a garage caught fire in Callington today.

Firefighters found the building, eight metres by four metres, well alight when they answered a 999 call from Valentine Row.

Crews from Callington and Liskeard summoned more help and firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used two hosereel jets to put out the blaze.

They stayed on scene for some time damping down.

The extent of the injuries is not known.

The cause of the fire is believed to have been accidental.
