The alarm was raised after smoke was seen coming from a derelict building in Looe yesterday.

Firefighters from Looe and Liskeard found a fire in the ground floor hallway of a building measuring eight metres by eight metres.

A hose reel jet was used to put out the fire.

It was started deliberately, and police have been informed.
