A tumble dryer fire yesterday, after which paramedics had to treat a householder for the effects of inhaling smoke, led firefighters to remind householders of safety recall advice for the devices.

Firefighters from Looe and Liskeard Community Fire Stations responded to a report of a tumble dryer on fire inside a property at Nomansland yesterday (April 2).

Crews confirmed the fire was out and took the dryer outside. An ambulance was called because the resident was suffering from the effects of smoke inhalation.
