Several people have suffered serious injuries, say police, after a collision on the A38 near Landrake earlier this afternoon.
The multi-vehicle crash happened at around 2.30pm and a number of road closures have been put in place to allow emergency services to deal with the situation.
Both carriageways of the A38 on part of the route between Trerulefoot and Carkeel have been closed to allow air ambulances to land, and the road is likely to remain closed for some time say police: members of the public are being asked to avoid the area.
Congestion is reported leading to the A388 towards Callington and the A390 towards Liskeard as traffic looks to divert.
Delays on the Torpoint Ferry are also reported as drivers take the alternative route.
Anyone who witnessed this incident, or who has any information is asked to email [email protected] or call 101 and quote log number 0536 of 19 April 2021.
