The closure of the A38 following a serious accident near Doublebois is causing traffic chaos on the A390 due to two sets of temporary traffic lights.

One set, for phantom roadworks between Dobwalls and Taphouse, is leaving traffic heading into Cornwall trailing back to the Moorswater turn off on the A38.

Another set of traffic lights, where contractors are dealing with a longstanding landslip, have caused gridlock in Lostwithiel with queues up to a mile each side of the lights - some on a blind bend.

Meanwhile, according to Google Maps, the A38 looks set to be closed until 12.30pm with a woman taken to hospital after a car was in collusion with a van.
