Firefighters from Saltash answered a 999 call in the opening hours of 2017.

Two appliances from Saltash Fire Station and back-up from Camels Head in Plymouth were called to a fire in St Stephens at about 2.30am on New Year’s Day.

A fire was found in the kitchen of the property and crews used two breathing apparatus and one hosereel to put it out.

Firefighters said the cause was accidental.
