A small community group on the outskirts of Saltash has celebrated its 50th anniversary.

Residents of Forder were joined by the Mayor and Consort of Saltash Hilary and Shojiro Frank to celebrate five decades of the village’s Community Association at a special event with a 60s theme.

The Forder Social Community, later known as the Forder Community and Conservation Society, was formed in October 1966 when residents decided to create a formal committee for their small hamlet.

Up to 40 members and guests attended, and an anniversary cake was cut.
