More than 21,000 pieces of marine litter have been picked up in the last 12 months from a stretch of beach in Whitsand Bay just 100m long, says Rame Peninsula Beach Care (RPBC).

The group, which organised a clean-up at Tregantle last weekend, has been counting and categorising items collected from the beach once every three months for the past year.

The surveys, which will continue for another two years, will contribute baseline data to a nationwide survey on marine litter.
