VEHICLES and equipment previously owned by Gunnislake based DAC Coaches have been sold in an online auction. The company, which had traded for 40 years, went into liquidation in March. A note on its website reports that all of its drivers have now found employment with other coach companies. With some 63 purchases from almost 150 registered bidders, the auction generated interest from as far afield as Cork in Ireland, Glasgow and Liverpool, as well as locally. Under the hammer were four coaches and 11 service buses, minibuses and cars, along with garage equipment and office furniture. Major vehicle bids included an Enterprise Plaxton Primo 2 for £28,500, an Iveco Iris Beulas Steygo 70-seater coach for £28,000, and a Mercedes 0813 Vario Plaxton Beaver 2 for £23,500. Other notable lots sold included Four Stertil Koni ST-1055B inspection lifts at £6,900, four Stertil Koni 11,500kg car lifts at £2,200 and an Eclipse Testpad Extreme diagnostic for £1,600. Simon Cornelius-Light, divisional director of the Machinery and Business Assets team for ES Group in the South West, who held the auction, said: 'ES Group's experience and national presence assisted in generating widespread bidder interest, with more than 1,800 bids collectively.'
