FRIENDLY MATCH

The Ashes will have taken more from this Wednesday night friendly match at Kimberley Stadium than their League Two visitors.

The backroom staff at Saltash are to be congratulated on getting the pitch playable, and they were rewarded with a crowd in excess of 200, who witnessed the Carlsberg South West Peninsula League Premier Division side put up a fine display against a very strong Argyle starting line-up.

The Pilgrims started with ten players who have experienced playing in the first team, and the game proved to the last in a green shirt by full-back Robbie Williams, who left Home Park the following day.
