Players with ages ranging from 40 to 71 took part in this season’s Cornwall Badminton Veterans Championships at Polkyth Sports Centre, St Austell.

Veterans badminton is thriving in Cornwall and, as well as all the club players, the county has two teams, the over-50s and the over-65s, who play against other counties in Badminton England’s inter-county leagues.

Among the players taking part was veteran men’s doubles world champion Bob Bell from Downgate.

County chairman Tony Poole presented the trophies and the tournament was organised and run by committee members Pat Edwards and Lyndon Allen.
