LISKEARD'S under-15s produced a scintillating East Cornwall League display against a determined Wadebridge outfit, scoring six goals without reply.

Playing against the elements in the first half, the Blues produced an excellent performance of 'passing and moving' football and had numerous opportunities to take the lead.

Ryan Harris, Mat Lor-enz, Jack Quaintance, Blake Penhaligan, Ben Gaynor and Ashley Buchan all saw their shots either go agonisingly wide or well saved by the Wadebridge goalkeeper.

With the scores level at half-time, coaches Roger Quaintance and Adam Welsh continued to encourage the Blues to continue with their passing game learned on the training pitch.

The advice paid off as they ran riot in the second period, with Sam Vine notching four goals and Buchan chipping in with a brace – and, in truth, it could have been more.

Towards the end, Liskeard relaxed slightly and allowed Wadebridge three rare opportunities to score. However, they were denied thanks to fine goalkeeping from Ross Drinkell.

Credit must also be given to the Liskeard defence of Sam Welsh, Jo Raggett, Sid Power and Blake Penhaligan, who were dominant throughout the contest.
