JOLLY'S DRINKS CORNWALL CRICKET DIVISION FOUR (EAST)

Menheniot-Looe v. Saltash

Saltash managed to squeeze home after a nail-biting encounter played in very difficult conditions.

With the match eventually reduced to 36 overs a side, the players were on and off several times due to frequent showers.

However, it proved to be a fine, albeit low-scoring, game of cricket played on a wicket with little bounce.

Runs were difficult to come by, unless there was a bad ball, and only the extra power of Chris Simpson, Jonny Trembath and Ian Smith had any success with the bat. Even though they managed only 108 runs, Saltash knew that, with the pitch playing as it was, they still had a good chance if they could bowl tightly.
